Hi, I'm Amélie

I'm a social worker. Since 2021, I've walked alongside families in northern communities and in private practice, from major crises to everyday questions.

In both worlds I met loving parents who had simply never been taught how to handle big feelings, theirs and their child's. Parenting is learned, not innate. And every child deserves a home where their emotions are understood.

That's why my approach starts with you, the parent. Not because you're the problem, but because you're the one who can change the dynamic first. Brave Ground is where I share what I've seen work: clear, shame-free tools for kids 6 to 12 and the parents who love them.

The Brave Ground Method

A step-by-step path that starts with you. Each level builds on the one below it, so the changes you make at home actually last.

Your inner work With your child

each level supports the one above it · tap a level to see what you'll learn

1The grounded parentEverything starts with you. When you're calm and clear, you can respond instead of react.
  • Notice your own agitation before you react
  • Calm your body and think clearly again
  • Catch the story you tell yourself as a parent
  • Turn it into a clear vision of the parent you want to be
  • Take one small step toward that vision each week

What you practise, your child learns.

2See the whole pictureLook past the behaviour to what's really going on.
  • Describe what happened with facts, not judgment
  • Step into your child's shoes with five simple questions
  • Find the message behind the behaviour
  • See your child from a new angle: a skill still growing, not a bad child

Skills are learned, not given.

3Listen and connectGo from blaming to understanding. That's what builds trust.
  • Choose the right moment to talk
  • Repair after a hard moment
  • Ask instead of assume
  • Listen to understand, not to fix
  • Name and validate your child's feelings

When a child feels understood, they don't need to hide.

4Solve it as a teamWith trust in place, you find solutions together.
  • Share rules and expectations clearly, and keep them consistent
  • Create rules together for more cooperation and independence
  • Turn hard tasks into a game
  • Make tools that speak to your child
  • Build a lasting bond and keep the team strong

One step at a time.

Your child isn't bad. They're still learning. And so are you.

Parenting is learned, not innate. That's good news: it means you can grow, one step at a time.
